History of Chex

How it started

Unlike a lot of our recipes that started hundreds of years ago, this started in 1936, when Raslton Purina discovered it.

Shredded Ralston was the first and original name of Chex, taking inspiration of the creators first name.

In 1950, the name is changed to Chex, and they also introduced a new rice variant to stores

Chex Mix is actually an original recipe printed on the back of the box.

Later in 1997, a popular cereal company called General Mills takes ownership of Chex.

Then a recipe using powered sugar, chocolate, peanut butter, and various candies became popular, this recipe is called reindeer chow.
